Bhutanese Refugee:Celebrating International Days

Dec 1, United Nations High Commissioner for Refugee (UNHCR) and Caritas Nepal has organized live concert on the eve of International Aids Day on Nov. 28 at Saraswati High School Damak six kilometer away from Beldangi refugee camp.It is reported  refugees celebrated the day organizing variousawareness and rally in camp today.

Life and Death are two sides of a coin
If we don’t care it, it will be in vain
Which wordy pursuit ends in sorrow?
Acquisition in dispersion, building in destruction
Meeting inn separation and birth in death

Don’t become sad what we had
Hope for exotic and luxurious glad
Be proud of what we have
Life will end in to the grave

Don’t spend wealth and time
For the physical appearance
Be proud of what we have
Leave the illiteracy and ignorance.

Bhutanese Refugees to have online degree

Bhutanese refugees residing in Nepal now are set to have online degree from RESPECT UNIVERSITY soon.

Youth Friendly Centre (YFC) a program implemented by CARITAS Nepal has managed to have online degree from RESPECT UNIVERSITY based in Canada. YFC has managed a room with six internet connected computers in Damak, Jhapa.

Refugees who have completed Higher Secondary education can join online degree on various subjects on their choice. It is said classes will begin from September where students can select any of the 2-3 years degree and 3-6 months diploma courses.

The courses offered are Basic Accounting, Women Empowerment, Journalism, ESL, Media/Mass Communication, International Human Rights Law, Human Rights and Health Science.108 students are finally selected for different subjects.

Students will receive every matter from net and by post.

Fr. Peter Jong Lepcha SJ, Programme Coordinator for YFC informed prateet that home works for starting the class has completed.

RESPECT UNIVERSITY will provide certificates upon completion of the course. It is Canada based University encouraging refugees, internally displaced, war victims and armed conflict victim students who have left their studies in Higher Secondary level to join degree level.

CARITAS Nepal has been providing education for Bhutanese refugees since 1992. It operates pre-primary to secondary level school within Camps and supports partially to the Higher Secondary level students for their studies.

Besides Academic Programs CARITAS Nepal implements disABILITY Program for physically and mentally disabled persons, Child Play Centre, Spoken English Class and YFC and Vocational trainings.

भूटानी शरणार्थी शिविर शनिश्चरे अर्न्तगत यूवा मैत्री केन्द्रले ६ दिने आधारभूत उद्घोषण तालिम सञ्चालन गरेको छ ।
तालिममा शरणार्थी प्रभावित क्षेत्रका विभिन्न समूहमा संलग्न यूवा र शरणार्थी शिविर भित्रका यूवा गरि करिवन ५८ जानको सहभागि मैत्री केन्द्रका संयोजक प्रेम धितालले बताउनु भयो ।
तालिमलाई प्रशिक्षण नारद तिम्सिना, कमल प्रधान र दधिराम अन्तिमले दिनु भएको थियो । उद्घोषण तालिम लगायत अन्य तालिमबाट शरणार्थी र शरणार्थी प्रभावित क्षेत्रमा रहेका यूवाविच सुमधुर सम्वन्ध कायम गर्ने उद्देश्य रहेको मैत्री केन्द्रका सहसंयोजक मनोरथ पोख्रेलले तालिमको उद्घाटन सत्रमा महन्त्वय राख्नु भएको थियो ।
उक्त तालिममा रेडियो सम्बन्धि, मञ्च तथा रंगमञ्च सम्बन्धि र जनमानसका अगाडि कसरी उद्घोषण गर्न सकिन्छ भन्नेबारेमा तालिम दिइरहेको धितालले जानकारी दिएका छन् ।
तालिम कारितास नेपालको सहयोगमा सञ्चालन भइरहेको छ ।
